Very important is a road loss of first ranked Asker Aliens (23-3) against fifth ranked Gimle BBK (13-12) on Saturday night. Visiting Asker Aliens were defeated by Gimle BBK in a tough game in Bergen 64-72. Asker Aliens were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 35-25 second half run of Gimle BBK. They outrebounded Asker Aliens 52-26 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Lorenzo Cugini (198-93, college: High Point) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. DR Congolese forward Djo Yele (203-82) answered with 9 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Asker Aliens. Gimle BBK maintains fifth place with 13-12 record. Asker Aliens lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with three games lost. Gimle BBK will play against Nidaros Jets (#8) in Tromdheim in the next round. Asker Aliens will have a break next round.
