No shocking result in a game in Renova where third ranked Saitama Broncos (18-6) defeated 6th ranked Kagoshima (11-13) 76-68 on Saturday. Saitama Broncos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Masaya Ueda (177-93) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Guard Kodai Takahashi (180-91) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) added 5 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saitama Broncos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Otsuka A. and Tokyo HT. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Saitama Broncos will have a break next round. Kagoshima will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
