Regular Season Round 23: Mollet - Olivar 83-73

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Olivar (6-10) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Mollet (11-5) 83-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-73. Mollet made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Mollet outrebounded Olivar 43-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Albert Ferrer (180-82) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Forward Jose-Maria Sanchez (198-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Mollet's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Javier Garcia produced 22 points and Raul Lobaco added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mollet. They moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with Palma II and Valls Nutrion. Olivar lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Mollet will face bottom-ranked Castellbisbal (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olivar will play against the league's leader Vic and hope to win that game.
