There was a minor upset when 7th ranked San Juan (7-10) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked San Fernando (7-10) 68-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by San Fernando. San Juan was better in third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Angel Canas-Balina (187-97) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Center Diego Gallardo (198-89) chipped in 6 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. San Fernando's coach Juan Luis Esteban used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Alvaro Lopez produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Samuel Ceada (198-91) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. San Fernando moved-up to seventh place in Group D-B, which they share with San Juan and Utrera. San Fernando will face bottom-ranked Sevilla 2 (#10) on the road in the next round.
