Rather predictable result when eighth ranked La Charite (11-10) beat at home 10th ranked Brissac-Aubance (9-12) 90-81 on Saturday. La Charite forced 20 Brissac-Aubance turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Brissac-Aubance was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Deremy Geiger (181-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 32 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Jerrell Wright (203, college: La Salle) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four La Charite players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) who recorded 22 points and naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. La Charite moved-up to seventh place. Brissac-Aubance at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. La Charite will face higher ranked Vendee Challans (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brissac-Aubance will play against SO Maritime Boulogne (#9) and hope to win that game.
