Regular Season Round 23: Univ.Burgos - Estela 75-76

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Univ.Burgos (7-8) was edged at home by first ranked Estela (19-1) 76-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 22-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Univ.Burgos outrebounded Estela 48-20 including a 38-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Czech center Tomas Hampl (215-88) who scored 15 points. Forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) chipped in 15 points. Guard Nacho Garcia (187-88) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and center Gana Ndiaye (208-88) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Estela. They maintain first place in Group A-A with 19-1 record, which they share with Zornotza. Loser Univ.Burgos dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Estela will face Easo (#4) in San Sebastian in the next round.
