Everything went according to plan in San Cristobal where fourth ranked Adelantados (13-5) outleveled 10th ranked Distrito Olimpico (4-13) 80-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Adelantados. Distrito Olimpico was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Adelantados made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Adelantados outrebounded Distrito Olimpico 46-23 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian guard Adaeze Alaeze-Dinma (178-94, college: VCU) who scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Caira Washington (188-95, college: G.Washington) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Adelantados players scored in double figures. Adelantados' coach Claudo Garcia felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Daira Varas (193-89) who recorded 13 points and Blanca Ruiz-de-Asin (175-97) added 10 points respectively. Adelantados have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Leganes. Distrito Olimpico lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Adelantados will face CVCD Granada (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Distrito Olimpico will play against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
