Regular Season Round 22: Pelplin - Gniezno 82-56

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Pelplin (21-1) outplayed 7th ranked Gniezno (11-10) in Pelpin 82-56 on Saturday. Pelplin forced 20 Gniezno turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for Marcin Chudy (188-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Slawomir Sikora (193-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Pelplin players scored in double figures. Center Szymon Budnikowski (200-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and forward Dariusz Dobrzycki (193-84) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gniezno. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pelplin have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 21-1 record. Loser Gniezno dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Pelplin will face Domino Inowr. (#6) in Inowroclaw in the next round where they are favorite. Gniezno will play on the road against Suchy Las in Poznan and hope to win that game.
