There was no surprise in Valencia where 9th ranked CVCD Granada (6-12) was defeated by seventh ranked Picken Claret (11-7) 53-48 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 17-5 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Picken Claret dominated on the defensive end, holding CVCD Granada to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Picken Claret forced 19 CVCD Granada turnovers and outrebounded them 52-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Adijat Adams (188-92, college: Biola, CA, agency: ProDep Management) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Juana Camilion (172-99) chipped in 4 points and 12 rebounds. Picken Claret's coach Carles Martinez used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Rebeca Rodriguez who recorded 6 points and 12 rebounds and Ainara Espana added 12 points respectively. Picken Claret have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Newly promoted CVCD Granada keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Picken Claret will face higher ranked Real Canoe (#5) in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CVCD Granada will play at home against Adelantados (#3) and hope to win that game.
