Regular Season Round 20: DELTA - Cactus Tbilisi 106-95
Date: February 10, 2018
Another interesting game for DELTA (5-13) which hosted in Marneuli against higher ranked Cactus Tbilisi (10-8). Eighth ranked DELTA had an easy win 106-95. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cactus Tbilisi. The game was mostly controlled by DELTA. Cactus Tbilisi was better in fourth quarter 30-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. DELTA shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nickolas Neal (183-89, college: Purdue-NCent.) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Ukrainian power forward Artem Shvets (201-85) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five DELTA players scored in double figures. American guard Chris Johnson (190-91, college: St.Catharine) responded with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) scored 23 points and 4 assists. Cactus Tbilisi's coach Archil Jgenti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted DELTA maintains eighth position with 5-13 record. Cactus Tbilisi at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Olimpi. DELTA will play against bottom-ranked Sokhumi (#9) in Tbilisi in the next round. Cactus Tbilisi will play at home against Batumi (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
