Regular Season Round 19: Nanterre - Le Portel 63-47

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Le Portel (10-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Nanterre (11-7) 63-47 on Saturday. Nanterre forced 23 Le Portel turnovers. It was a great evening for center Jean-Marc Pansa (208-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Armand Mensah (182-99) helped adding 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side power forward Mounir Bernaoui (204-97) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Cameroonian guard Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou (191-98) scored 5 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nanterre maintains sixth place with 11-7 record, which they share with ES Chalonnais. Le Portel lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Nanterre will meet bottom-ranked Antibes (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Le Portel will play against Monaco (#14) and hope to secure a win.
