Regular Season Round 9: Giants - Rebels 90-48

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and Rebels (#4). Giants (10-0) crushed visiting Rebels (2-8) by 42 points 90-48. Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rebels' 34. They outrebounded Rebels 54-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard D'Shon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Michael Bain (185-85) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Theo Ferguson who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Antario Collie added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Giants have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Rebels lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Giants' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Chargers.
