There was a small surprise in Madrid where twelfth ranked Quintanar (7-12) won against 9th ranked Estudiantes B (8-10) 81-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Quintanar. Estudiantes B was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while Estudiantes B only scored eight points from the stripe. Estudiantes B was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Khion Sankey (196, college: Lipscomb) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Dominican forward Gregorio Adon (198-91) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Dovydas Giedraitis (190-0) produced 15 points and 5 assists and point guard Adams Sola (191-0) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Estudiantes B's coach gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Quintanar moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Estudio. Estudiantes B lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Quintanar will face higher ranked Tenerife Naut. (#6) in Santa Cruz de Ten. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
