Regular Season Round 21: SAP Vaucluse - Saint-Quentin 84-73

We should mention about the upset which took place in Sorgues, where 4th placed Saint-Quentin (15-6) lost to fourteenth ranked SAP Vaucluse (8-13) in a road game 73-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Saint-Quentin. 25 personal fouls committed by Saint-Quentin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Montenegrin power forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Yann Siegwarth (180-93) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists. Five SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. Benoit Gillet (190-86) came up with 18 points and American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Saint-Quentin in the defeat. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Souffel. Saint-Quentin at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. SAP Vaucluse's next round opponent will be higher ranked ALS Basket (#8) in Andrezieux and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint-Quentin will play at home against Souffelweyersheim (#13) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
