Regular Season Round 24: Osaka Evessa - Tochigi Brex 48-81

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Osaka Evessa (12-24) against sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (19-17) on Saturday night. Host Osaka Evessa unexpectedly was crushed by in Osaka 48-81. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Osaka Evessa 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Osaka Evessa's players. It was a good game for swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) contributed with 3 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Soichiro Fujitaka (190-91) added 13 points in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hokkaido L. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the third position with 24 games lost. Tochigi Brex's next round opponent will be Shimane Magic (#6) at home. Osaka Evessa will play against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
