Regular Season Round 19: RR Retail Galli - Roma SRB 75-63

Everything went according to plan when second ranked RR Retail Galli (16-2) defeated 12th ranked Roma SRB (5-13) in Valdarno 75-63 on Saturday. RR Retail Galli forced 38 Roma SRB turnovers and outrebounded them 57-30 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Roma SRB was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Francesca Innocenti (170-92) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Federica Iannucci (172-93) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Israeli point guard Giulia Prosperi (180-97) answered with 8 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Laura Gelfusa (185-79) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Roma SRB. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted RR Retail Galli maintains second place in A2 with 16-2 record behind leader Sesto SG. Roma SRB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. RR Retail Galli will face Umbertide (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Roma SRB will play against Forli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
