There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Joventut LC (9-9) beat on the road 7th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (9-9) 75-62 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Joventut LC shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was Eliana Soriano who scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Paula Tutusaus (186-95) chipped in 18 points. Four Joventut LC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Arantxa Mallou (181-91) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Maria Lago (-92) added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. Joventut LC moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Arxil Pontev. and Rioja. Arxil Pontevedra lost third consecutive game. Joventut LC will face higher ranked Cortegada (#6) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
