Regular Season Round 18: Gimle Pride - Storm Ungdom 94-30

Bottom-ranked Storm Ungdom (0-13) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to second ranked Gimle Pride (10-4) 94-30 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Gimle Pride led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Storm Ungdom to just 4 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Gimle Pride dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Storm Ungdom's 18. Gimle Pride forced 36 Storm Ungdom turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gimle Pride looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Storm Ungdom's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Henriette Ellingsen (170-87, college: Arkansas Tech) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Guard Sigrid Hardie (164-94) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Gimle Pride players scored in double figures. Gimle Pride's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sofia Burkow (174-0) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Embla Fuhr (164-99) added 3 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Gimle Pride have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Ullern. Loser Storm Ungdom still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Gimle Pride will meet league's leader Ullern in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Storm Ungdom will play against Asker (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
