There was no surprise in Jemappes where 8th ranked Kangoeroes (5-13) were defeated by fifth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (10-7) 78-74. Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Kangoeroes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) notched 28 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach Daniel Goethals allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) did not help to save the game for Kangoeroes. American point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Duran International) added 15 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to fourth place. Kangoeroes lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's next round opponent will be Liege Basket (#9) on the road where they are favorite. Kangoeroes will play against Basic-Fit Brussels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
