Regular Season Round 24: Ryukyu GK - Shiga L-Stars 68-57

There was no surprise in Okinawa where 4th ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-25) were defeated by first ranked Ryukyu GK (28-8) 68-57 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Koyo Takahashi scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 28-8 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark and SeaHorses. Shiga L-Stars lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 25 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
