Very expected game when 10th ranked Haneda Vickies (7-19) lost to third ranked Toyota A. (21-5) in Tokyo 59-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. Toyota A. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) notched 15 points to lead the effort and the former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 6 points and 11 rebounds by forward Senami Akimoto (178-92) did not help to save the game for Haneda Vickies. Forward Okuda Hana (174-94) added 13 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota A. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Haneda Vickies lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 19 games lost. Toyota A. will meet at home Hitachi Cougars (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Haneda Vickies will play against Denso Iris in Kariya and hope to secure a win.
