Regular Season Round 24: Toyota Alvark - Toshiba BT 86-54

Everything went according to plan in Tokyo where first ranked Toyota Alvark (28-8) outscored 3rd ranked Toshiba Thunders (23-13) 86-54 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark outrebounded Toshiba Thunders 48-29 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Zack Baranski (193-92) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) with 10 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Toyota Alvark maintains first position with 28-8 record, which they share with SeaHorses and Ryukyu GK. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the third place with 13 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face league's second-placed Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hokkaido L. and hope to win that game.
