The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gunma as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gunma defeated 3rd placed Kanazawa Sam. at home 102-87. Gunma players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) nailed 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) added 16 points respectively for Kanazawa Sam. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Kanazawa Sam. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Cyberdyne IR. Kanazawa Sam. will play next round against Bambitious Nara trying to get back on the winning streak. Gunma will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Dragonflies at Hiroshima.
