Regular Season Round 23: Coruna II - Rosalia 80-59

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Coruna II (7-13) smashed at home higher ranked Rosalia (9-11) 80-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Coruna II. Rosalia was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Coruna II dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rosalia's 24. Coruna II forced 19 Rosalia turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Pablo Ferreiro (187-98) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Ruben Rey (198-93) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Coruna II's coach Fernando Buendia felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Luis Lopez (189-96) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and Nilo Barreiro (192-95) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Coruna II moved-up to thirteenth place in Group A-B, which they share with Obradoiro II and Culleredo. Rosalia lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Coruna II will face Culleredo (#15) at home in the next round.
