Regular Season Round 21: Cagliari Academy - Agrigento 73-95

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Agrigento (10-11) outleveled on the road 8th ranked Cagliari Academy (10-11) 95-73 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Center Tommaso Guariglia (207-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 19 points. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pensack Sports) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Agrigento moved-up to eighth place in A2. Agrigento will face higher ranked Givova Scafati (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari Academy will play against Remer Treviglio (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
