Regular Season Round 19: Argentino - Atenas 89-82

We should mention about the upset which took place in Junin, where 4th placed Atenas (12-6) lost to fourteenth ranked Argentino (8-10) in a road game 82-89 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American forward Marvin Phillips (201-83, college: Claflin) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Luciano Massarelli (183-93) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Argentino players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia, agency: Dutt Sports Services) responded with 29 points (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) scored 22 points. Argentino moved-up to tenth place. Loser Atenas dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Quimsa. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against Weber Bahia in Bahia Blanca and hope to secure a win.
