Regular Season Round 19: Vanoli CR - Umana VE 83-85

Seventh-ranked Vanoli Cremona (9-10) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Umana Venezia (14-5). The visitors from Venezia managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected easier game. Umana Venezia made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. American center Henry Sims (208-90, college: Georgetown) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) added 23 points respectively for Vanoli Cremona in the defeat. Four Vanoli Cremona players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Umana Venezia have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with EA7 Armani and Scandone AV. Vanoli Cremona at the other side dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Umana Venezia will play against Virtus Bologna (#5) at home in the next round. Vanoli Cremona will play against VL Pesaro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
