Regular Season Round 18: Keflavik - Hottur 93-95

Bottom-ranked Hottur managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Hottur edged eighth-ranked Keflavik 95-93. Keflavik was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 30-27 charge of Hottur, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Keflavik 45-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) scored 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Bergthor Rikhardsson (196-97) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Hottur maintains twelfth position with 2-16 record. Keflavik at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Hottur will play against higher ranked Tindastoll (#4) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Keflavik will play on the road against the league's second-placed KR (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
