Rather predictable result in Nagoya where third ranked Diamond Dolphins (17-19) defeated 5th ranked Nishinomiya S. (7-29) 86-79 on Monday. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists and American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Nishinomiya S.'s coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Diamond Dolphins have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Nishinomiya S. lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 29 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Niigata Albirex (#5) on the road in the next round. Nishinomiya S. will play against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. and hope to win that game.
