Regular Season Round 9: Shockers - Regulators 74-67

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Shockers (#3) and Regulators (#2). Shockers (7-3) won against visiting Regulators (7-3) 74-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Regulators. Shockers held Regulators to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Shockers forced 21 Regulators turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Regulators were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. William Rigby nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and Henderson Curry accounted for 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kenneth Pratt came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Simon Cruz added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Regulators in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shockers moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Regulators. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
