An interesting game took place in Concordia where higher ranked Obras Basket (11-9) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Estudiantes C. (8-8) 98-94 on Friday. Estudiantes C. made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) stepped up and scored 27 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners and American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) with 31 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-97) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Estudiantes C. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with GECR Indalo. Loser Obras Basket keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Estudiantes C. will have a break next round.
