Regular Season Round 19: Njardvik - Haukar 75-114
Date: February 16, 2018
The game in Njardvik supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Haukar (14-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Njardvik (11-8). Haukar smashed Njardvik 114-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Njardvik's players. It was an exceptional evening for international guard Kari Jonsson (190-97, college: Drexel) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) accounted for 26 points for the winning side. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. International swingman Kristinn Palsson (198-97, college: Marist) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Terrell Vinson (201-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: HMS) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Njardvik in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Njardvik at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Haukar will play against Stjarnan (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Njardvik will play against Keflavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
