Regular Season Round 19: KR - Keflavik 65-72

The most shocking disappointment of round 19 was a home defeat of 4th placed KR (13-5) to eighth ranked Keflavik (9-10) 72-65. It ended the three-game winning streak of KR. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) helped adding 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) responded with 18 points and the former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) scored 5 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Keflavik maintains eighth place with 9-10 record. Defending champion KR keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face higher ranked Njardvik (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KR will play against Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
