Third-ranked Orange Vikings (22-16) made lots of trouble for second ranked Kumamoto V. (27-11) on Friday. Kumamoto V. managed to secure only three-point victory 103-100. However their fans expected easier game. Kumamoto V. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kumamoto V.'s coach used entire bench in such tough game. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) scored 24 points. Four Kumamoto V. and five Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 27-11 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Loser Orange Vikings keep the third place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
