Regular Season Round 19: Limburg United - Aalstar 72-66

Date: February 16, 2018
The game between third ranked Okapi Aalstar (11-7) and sixth ranked Limburg United (8-11) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Okapi Aalstar was defeated by Limburg United in a tough game in Limburg 66-72. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Limburg United made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Khaliq Spicer (206-94, college: Kent St., agency: 3Eye) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. His fellow American import power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 12 points for the winners. The former international swingman Olivier Troisfontaines (196-89) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) added 10 points and 9 assists in the effort for Okapi Aalstar. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Limburg United maintains sixth place with 8-11 record. Okapi Aalstar at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Mons-Hainaut. Limburg United are looking forward to face league's second-placed Antwerp Giants on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Okapi Aalstar will play against Liege Basket and is hoping to win this game.
