Regular Season Round 39: Libertadores - Panteras 97-88

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Panteras' (7-26) road loss to tenth ranked Libertadores (10-25) 88-97 on Friday. Libertadores made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Libertadores outrebounded Panteras 39-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for guard Michael Perez (190-91, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) helped adding 29 points and 7 rebounds. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jaron Martin (178, college: Cal-Irvine) with 25 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard Tyray Petty (192-88, college: Utah Valley) scored 24 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Libertadores maintains tenth place with 10-25 record. Panteras lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Libertadores will again meet at home bottom-ranked Panteras (#11) in the next round. Panteras will have a break next round.
