Very important is a road loss of second ranked Vestri (14-6) against eighth ranked FSU (4-16) on Friday night. Visiting Vestri was crushed by FSU in Selfoss 110-82. The game without a history. FSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Vestri shooting 73.9 percent from the field and made 75-of-83 charity shots (90.4 percent) during the game. FSU forced 21 Vestri turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 36 long-distance shots on high 67.9 percentage. FSU players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists. Vestri was plagued by 38 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Antowine Lamb (203-88, college: McPherson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Hlynur Hreinsson (174-92) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. FSU's coach Eloy Doce felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Bjorn Asgeirsson (184-0) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vestri. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FSU maintains eighth position with 4-16 record. Vestri at the other side dropped to the third place with six games lost. FSU will play against higher ranked Gnupverjar (#7) in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vestri will play on the road against Fjolnir (#6) in Reykjavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
