Regular Season Round 20: UCD Marian - Tralee 86-83

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Super League took place in Dublin. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Tralee (14-5) to first ranked UCD Marian (15-4) 86-83 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Tralee. It was a key game for the top position in the league. UCD Marian forced 22 Tralee turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 21 rebounds and the former international swingman Dan James (189-90) who added 25 points and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Serbian forward Goran Pantovic (208-91, college: Drexel) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Kieran Donaghy (198-83) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UCD Marian maintains first position with 15-4 record. Defending champion Tralee keeps the second place with five games lost. UCD Marian are looking forward to face Belfast Star (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tralee will play against Swords Thunder (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
