Rather expected game when 7th ranked Aisin AW (8-16) lost to fifth ranked Tokyo Excel. (13-11) in Aichi 65-77 on Saturday. Tokyo Excel. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Aisin AW's 40. Tokyo Excel. forced 23 Aisin AW turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import Justin Herold (203-91, college: Sonoma St.) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Naoya Adachi (188-83) answered with 17 points and guard Ikishima Ikejima (188-94) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aisin AW. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Excel. maintains fifth place with 13-11 record. Loser Aisin AW keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. Tokyo Excel. will face higher ranked Toyoda Gosei (#4) in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aisin AW will play on the road against the league's second-placed Otsuka A. in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
