An interesting game took place in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where higher ranked Araberri (10-13) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Ourense (8-14) 90-97. Araberri was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 35-23 third quarter run of Ourense. 28 personal fouls committed by Araberri helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Australian forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Alec Wintering (183-95, college: Portland) came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Araberri in the defeat. Five Ourense and four Araberri players scored in double figures. Araberri's coach Antonio Perez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ourense moved-up to fourteenth place. Araberri at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Ourense's next round opponent will be higher ranked Blancos de Rueda (#8) in Valladolid and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
