9th ranked Sokhumi (1-18) was outscored at home by eighth ranked DELTA (6-13) with the biggest margin this round 97-75 on Saturday night. The game without a history. DELTA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian power forward Artem Shvets (201-85) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Nickolas Neal (183-89, college: Purdue-NCent.) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was center Sergo Atuashvili (223-85) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Bishop Daniels (190-92, college: Rutgers) added 18 points respectively. Four DELTA and five Sokhumi players scored in double figures. Sokhumi's coach Mikheil Kobeshavidze gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted DELTA maintains eighth place with 6-13 record. Sokhumi lost their sixteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. DELTA will meet at home higher ranked Mgzavrebi (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sokhumi will play against Batumi and hope to win that game.
