Regular Season Round 15: Niki Lefkadas - PAOK 76-62

The game in Lefkadas was also quite interesting. 5th ranked PAOK (8-7) played at the court of seventh ranked Niki Lefkadas (8-7). Niki Lefkadas defeated PAOK 76-62 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PAOK. The game was mostly controlled by Niki Lefkadas. PAOK was better in third quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niki Lefkadas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to PAOK's 26. The best player for the winners was American guard Hailey Dunham (188-87, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import forward Peyton Whitted (190-95, college: Penn St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85) who recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. PAOK's coach Vassilis Maslarinos rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Niki Lefkadas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Athinaikos and PAOK. Niki Lefkadas will face league's second-placed Faros Keratsiniou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PAOK will play against the league's leader Olympiacos and hope to win that game.
