Regular Season Round 38: Hiroshima D. - Gunma 78-80

Important game to mention about took place in Hiroshima. First ranked Gunma (23-14) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Dragonflies (19-19) 80-78 on Saturday evening. Strangely Dragonflies outrebounded Gunma 44-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gunma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gunma maintains first position with 23-14 record, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Dragonflies at the other side keep the fourth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
