Second Stage Round 3: Lekdetec.nl - Grasshoppers 68-69

The most exciting game of round 3 in the Eredivisie took place in Bemmel. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of Lekdetec.nl (0-3) to Grasshoppers (3-0) 69-68 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for point guard Mia Hordijk (166-0) who led her team to a victory scoring 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Fleur Kuijt (178-96) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Grasshoppers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Cornelia Fondren (173-93, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Sarah Curran (180-95, college: Drexel, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Grasshoppers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lekdetec.nl will play again on the road against Grasshoppers (#1) in Katwijk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
