Regular Season Round 25: Nishinomiya S. - Kyoto Hannar. 78-102

Everything went according to plan in Hyogo where second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (22-16) outleveled 6th ranked Nishinomiya S. (7-31) 102-78 on Saturday. Kyoto Hannar. made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. Kyoto Hannar. outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 39-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. Nishinomiya S. was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Ito Tatsuya (173-94) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 23 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) added 21 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kyoto Hannar.. They maintain second place with 22-16 record having seven points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hitachi SR. Nishinomiya S. lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with 31 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Tochigi Brex (#5) at home in the next round. Nishinomiya S. will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
