Very expected game when 12th ranked Almeria (4-14) lost on the road to fourth ranked Leganes (14-5) 68-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Leganes outrebounded Almeria 48-32 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Almeria's players. It was a very good performance for American forward Kiara Kudron (188, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Icelandic forward Hildur Kjartansdottir (188-94, college: UTRGV, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Leganes' coach Nacho Garcia used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Bosnian center Samra Omerbasic (191-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Almeria. Four Almeria players scored in double figures. Leganes moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Adelantados. Almeria lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Leganes will face league's leader Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Almeria will play at home against Promete (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
