Regular Season Round 23: Goleniow - Olsztyn 70-77

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Goleniow (1-19) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Olsztyn (6-16) 77-70 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Croatian point guard Ante Markoc (188-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Jaroslaw Andrusiewicz (201-86) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Center Leszek Kulczynski (208-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Bartlomiej Berdzik (196-93) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olsztyn have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place in Group A. Goleniow lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Olsztyn will face higher ranked Koscian (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goleniow will play against Gniezno (#7) and hope to win that game.
