Regular Season Round 38: Kumamoto V. - Ehime OV 88-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Orange Vikings' (22-16) road loss to second ranked Kumamoto V. (27-11) 78-88 on Saturday. Kumamoto V. made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) chipped in 20 points. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kumamoto V. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 27-11 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Loser Orange Vikings keep the third place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
