Leader Paulistano delivered the nineteenth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Universo/Vitoria (11-11) 90-68 in Salvador. Paulistano made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Elio Corazza (193-89, college: Miami Dade CC) who scored 13 points and 8 assists. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 17 points. Five Paulistano players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) who recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 17 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano (19-3) have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. They maintain first place. Universo/Vitoria at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Caxias do Sul. Paulistano are looking forward to face Botafogo F.R. (#12) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Universo/Vitoria will play on the road against Joinville (#13) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
