Regular Season Round 24: Igualada - Mollet 74-80

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Mollet (12-6) beat on the road one of their biggest challengers Igualada (12-6) 80-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 24-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Nil Baques (193-98) contributed with 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Carles Fons (188-91) replied with 24 points and 8 rebounds and center Micky Garcia (206-85, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 13 points in the effort for Igualada. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mollet have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with Valls Nutrion and Igualada. Mollet will face league's leader Vic at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Igualada will play against Castellbisbal and hope to win that game.
